Teaching Posters

A set of posters provided for placing in personal evangelism fellowship areas and classrooms to teach / remind visitors and members of basic tenets which lead you to a scriptural church of Christ.

Convincing someone to obey simple New Testament Christianity when they come from a background where their respected religious authorities believe and teach something else is a journey.  This journey Is usually not made in a day or in several days.

Further, some of our own children have not made the journey, but rather believe because their respected religious authorities (you) believe.  They in a respect have the “faith of their fathers”.  If we have made the journey to our own personal faith in God, we need to help them on their journey, but cannot make it for them.

There are a variety of things which will help in this journey, and the recent results from the churches of Christ indicate what we have historically been doing is not adequate.  Church attendance is in decline, which indicates both that we are not evangelizing and we are losing members.

Us in general not having a clear picture of what we are doing is certainly a part of this.  A large part of the OC Church Growth Institute is to learn what we can do to fix this, irrespective of whether it is Think Tank thinking or the identification of good ideas which someone else has.

The idea here is simple.  Put concise statements on the wall which should sink into a persons understanding with repetitive observations.  This should be true irrespective of whether the person is a personal evangelism prospect, one of our  youth, or some of us older  members.
